Job summary

BlueScope Recycling Materials is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to perform a wide range of maintenance and repair activities on plant and mobile equipment within an industrial scrap yard environment in Delta, OH. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of related maintenance experience (industrial or mobile equipment preferred).
• Basic mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and routine repairs on plant and mobile equipment.
• Conduct periodic inspections to identify wear, damage, and replacement needs; ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
• Utilize technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics to troubleshoot, diagnose, calibrate, and repair equipment, engines, and compressors.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, including but not limited to loaders, shears, grapples, skid steers, forklifts, tractor/trailers, shredders, conveyors, and hydraulic systems.
• Perform welding, grinding, torching, and weld setup as required.
• Safely set up and disassemble machinery and equipment.
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including proper handling of hazardous materials.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other departments regarding equipment status and repair needs.
