Job summary

Pacific Recycling, Inc. is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our metal recycling shredder team. This hands-on role focuses on installing, maintaining, and repairing heavy equipment in an outdoor production environment.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical skills, experience with hydraulic and electrical controls, and a disciplined approach to preventive maintenance and documentation. Shift work and on-call may be required.

Qualifications

5 years of industrial maintenance in a heavy industrial environment.
Expertise with hydraulic systems and reading schematics.
Proficient with conveyors, shaft alignment, and precision fitting.
Knowledge of electrical/controls troubleshooting; safe lockout/tagout practices.
Familiarity with CMMS for maintenance planning and recordkeeping.
Strong organization to manage priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

Install, align, repair, and overhaul heavy industrial machinery including shredder drives and conveyors.
Maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic systems and piping.
Inspect and repair conveyor systems, belts, rollers, drives, and takeups.
Diagnose electrical and controls issues including motor controls, sensors, PLCs, and safety interlocks.
Execute planned maintenance schedules and document work orders and equipment history.
Participate in project planning for installations and major overhauls.
Identify deficiencies and implement reliability improvements with operators.
