Job summary

Colgate-Palmolive Company in Bowling Green, KY seeks an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician II to keep high-speed production and facility equipment reliable. You’ll troubleshoot, repair, and perform proactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and control systems up to 480 VAC, while upholding GMP and food safety standards in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

You’ll mentor junior staff, perform welding and fabrication as needed, and operate forklifts to move equipment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a Food Grade industrial maintenance setting, OR 4+ years in general industrial maintenance.
• Must earn a passing score on the designated Mechanical or Electrical SMT Test.
• Proficiency in mechanical troubleshooting, electrical systems (up to 480V), welding, and fabrication.
• Strong communication skills for shift handovers and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting & Repair: diagnose and repair complex breakdowns in mechanical systems, conveyance, pneumatics, and liquid transfer systems.
• Electrical & Controls: troubleshoot electrical distribution systems (480 VAC and lower), device components, and control systems; replace components to minimize downtime.
• Preventive Maintenance: perform scheduled PMs during production and non-production hours to extend equipment life.
• Fabrication & Modification: weld, fabricate, and pipefit to install/modify equipment for process improvements.
• System Operations: use SAP to create/confirm work orders, assign parts, and track labor hours.
• Safety & Compliance: adhere to GMPs and Food Safety policies; speak up on unsafe conditions.
• Mentorship: provide technical guidance and training to operators and junior staff.
• Material Handling: operate tow motors and rig equipment as required.
