Job summary

The Shaw Industries Maintenance Tech C – Shift 1 is an entry-to-mid level role focused on keeping production equipment safe and reliable. You will perform hands‑on maintenance and basic troubleshooting while supporting senior technicians.

You will handle preventive and basic repairs, document issues for operations, and contribute to reliability initiatives in a collaborative, team‑oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Foundational experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and maintenance practices.
• Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, PPE, hot work, PIT, fall protection and rigging basics.
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and basic measuring instruments.
• Comfortable using CMMS or basic computer systems to document work.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
• Maintain mechanical systems such as bearings, belts, chains, pulleys, shafts, motors, and gearboxes.
• Support conveyance systems, pumps, valves, and utility systems (steam, air, water).
• Assist with hydraulic and pneumatic system maintenance to ensure safe, continuous operation.
• Identify and resolve common mechanical issues, diagnose problems, and restore equipment functionality.
• Document and communicate issues, root causes, and corrective actions to maintenance and operations teams.
• Complete assigned work orders supporting plant reliability and improvement initiatives.
• Follow safety and quality standards during project work.
• Work closely with senior technicians and maintenance leads; participate in knowledge sharing.
