Job summary

Altium Packaging is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician for our Sherman, TX plant to perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on packaging and processing equipment. This role supports continuous improvement, reads schematics, and adheres to GMP/SQF/BRC standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The position requires a 12-hour rotating 2-2-3 shift, with overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical maintenance background with preventive maintenance experience.
• Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, technical documentation, and maintenance instructions.
• Basic computer skills and experience entering maintenance records electronically.
• Must provide and maintain own basic maintenance tools.
• Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and safe industrial maintenance practices.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively within a team environment.
• Ability to work a 12-hour rotating 2-2-3 schedule and demonstrate shift flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Follow all plant safety policies, OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and safe maintenance practices.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing and facility equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and process-related issues.
• Install, adjust, maintain, and repair blow molding equipment, packaging equipment, conveyors, palletizers, compressors, chillers, and ancillary systems.
• Diagnose equipment failures and determine root causes to minimize production downtime.
• Perform equipment changeovers, tooling changes, and machine setup activities as needed.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, rebuild, and replace pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, gearboxes, bearings, and drive components.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals, technical drawings, electrical schematics, and hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams.
• Complete work orders and document maintenance activities within the CMMS system.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
• Assist with installation and startup of new equipment and facility projects.
• Perform welding, fabrication, and repair work as required.
• Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, pallet jacks, and other mobile equipment in a safe manner when authorized.
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to resolve equipment issues.
• Maintain an organized and clean work environment in accordance with GMP, SQF, BRC, and company standards.
• Work overtime, weekends, holiday coverage, and emergency call-ins as business needs require.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.
