Location: Hickory, NC
Position: Industrial Maintenance Reliability Technician I
Pay: $30.46/hr.
Schedule: (2-2-3 schedule) 12-hour night shift from 7pm to 7am
Train: Start on day shift until the candidate has completed the necessary requirements to go on night shift. (Time frame will depend on experience and job performance.)
Specific requirements:
Minimum education: high school diploma and some formal technical training
5+ years recent experience in manufacturing maintenance roles
Must have strong electrical and mechanical skills
PLC/Automation training in programming and troubleshooting preferred
Experience running conventional machining equipment (lathe, mill, drill press, etc.)
Basic knowledge of craft tools and their appropriate use
Experience with modern high-speed production machinery
Ability to work independently
Experience in technical documentation
Ability to read and understand pneumatic, electric, and hydraulic diagrams and schematics
Strong troubleshooting skills
Excellent communication skills
Safety training in manufacturing environment and ability to train others
Job Overview:
Reporting to the Plant Engineer, the IMRT is responsible for achieving reliability for plant equipment by performing maintenance tasks to keep equipment in optimal condition and minimize downtime. This includes troubleshooting, repairs, and identifying improvement opportunities. The individual will support the Sonoco Performance System (SPS), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and Maintenance Excellence processes within the plant.
Maintain mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, piping, electrical, and robotic equipment, including proper lubrication
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, piping, electrical, and robotic equipment
Improve reliability of equipment
Perform precise installation of equipment according to OEM specifications
