King County’s West Point Treatment Plant seeks Industrial Maintenance Mechanics to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair a wide range of rotating equipment, including pumps, blowers, gearboxes, and piping. You will work both independently and with plant staff to ensure reliable operations and safety in an industrial wastewater setting.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of safe use, care, and operation of hand, power, and pneumatic tools.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing for large-scale wastewater piping systems.
• Proficient welding skills: MIG, TIG, stick; fabricating heavy equipment and piping.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, manuals and document work.

Responsabilités

• Perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul of complex mechanical machinery—pumps, motors, grinders, blowers, compressors, gearboxes, hydraulics.
• Install and repair large piping systems in a wastewater facility.
• Fabricate and repair plant piping; contribute to design improvements.
• Operate hand, power, pneumatic tools safely and effectively.
• Lead or mentor less-experienced mechanics or helpers.
