Job summary

King County’s Wastewater Treatment Division is hiring an Industrial Engine Mechanic for West Point Treatment Plant and off-site facilities. You will maintain and repair diesel and biogas engines, generators, pumps, and related systems, performing preventive and corrective maintenance to keep critical wastewater systems safe and reliable.

You will work with operations and other trades, document maintenance activity, and support the cogeneration system.

Qualifications

• Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and overhaul engine-driven equipment.
• Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and equipment history records to perform accurate maintenance and repairs.
• Commitment to safe work practices, including Lockout/Tagout procedures and PPE.
• Ability to organize, document, and maintain maintenance records for equipment, emissions, and fuel systems.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with trades, operations staff, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and overhaul engine-driven equipment and generator power systems.
• Maintain records of emission testing and tuning for co-generation and pump engines.
• Maintain fuel tank testing, permit inspections, and certifications for fuel tanks.
• Inspect and test equipment for safe operation and compliance with maintenance standards.
• Collaborate with other trades and operations staff to support plant and off-site maintenance.
