Job summary

The City of Richland is seeking a skilled Treatment Plant Mechanic to perform high-level mechanical work across the wastewater treatment plant, lift stations, and related facilities. Under the Wastewater Maintenance Supervisor, you will install, repair, and maintain pumps, motors, and precision equipment, with heavy emphasis on welding, rigging, and fabrication.

Schedule is anticipated Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm, with mandatory emergency standby work year-round.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in industrial mechanics or related field or trade school certificate or apprenticeship.
• Six years of experience with mechanical installation, removal, repair and maintenance of pumps, small motors, mechanical feed systems and other precision devices including welding, rigging, fabrication.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform highly skilled mechanical installation, maintenance and repair at the wastewater treatment plant and lift stations.
• Work on construction, maintenance and repair of facilities under supervision, with after-hours and weekend work as needed.
• Take part in safety and compliance requirements and operate within the IUOE bargaining guidelines.
