Job summary

Prysmian in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, fix, and improve equipment used in plastics and metals operations. You will contribute to safe, efficient production and uphold housekeeping and company safety rules.

The role requires 3–5 years of mechanical/electrical/hydraulic experience in an industrial setting, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and wear appropriate PPE. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic skills. Electrical skills are a plus.
• MUST have 3 years or more of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must possess a valid driver's license
• Effective communication skills, as well as strong problem solving and decision-making skills
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to climb, pull, push, bend, stool, kneel, and lift
• Wear proper personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, steel toe boots, and high visibility uniform
• Capacity to work overtime as needed
• Good vision (this can be accomplished with corrective lenses), central and peripheral vision in both eyes to detect objects or movement in the field of view

Responsibilities

• Execute preventative maintenance according to the schedule to minimize equipment downtime.
• Complete reactive maintenance on production lines to recover from equipment failures by repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Use troubleshooting skills to identify and solve equipment improvements
• Complete machine tear down/repair and assembly
• Work with team members and operators to ensure the daily production schedule is met
• Experience in Structural Foam, Blow Molding, or Injection Molding.
• Conduct equipment inspections and verification of proper working conditions
• Safely operate a forklift
• Complete other job-related duties and special projects as assigned
