Job summary

Ferrara in Forest Park, Illinois is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to keep production and facility equipment in top condition. You will work with gears, belts, hydraulics and pneumatics and troubleshoot electrical components.

This on-site role requires overtime flexibility, regular preventive maintenance, and collaboration with production personnel to ensure smooth operation and continual improvement. Candidates with 3 years of industrial maintenance experience and a relevant technical degree

Qualifications

• 3 years of prior experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic OR completion of a 2 year Technical Degree in maintenance field AND 1 year of prior experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic
• Experience must include diagnostic troubleshooting, repairing and replacing defective parts, adjusting machinery, and modifying units to meet proper operating specifications

Responsibilities

• Disassembles, inspects, reassembles, troubleshoots, repairs and replaces malfunctioning parts or equipment using test equipment and meters
• Cleans, lubricates and adjusts guides, sensors and timing for process systems of packaging equipment to improve efficiency
• Performs routine preventive maintenance procedures as per schedule
• Installs change parts on production machinery to run a different size, shape or product
• Reads diagrams, programs/ladder logic and machinery manuals to diagnose problems and learn proper operation
• Installs new equipment
• Communicates equipment conditions and significant problems to supervisors and shift teams
• Displays cooperation with production personnel
• Pursues outside schooling or plant-provided programs to improve skills
• Performs other duties as assigned
