Job summary

Flex-N-Gate Urbana in Urbana, Illinois is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to install, maintain and repair facility equipment including presses, conveyors, and compressors. Expect a starting pay of $36.00 per hour with a Monday–Friday schedule, 5:00am to 1:30pm, reporting to the Maintenance Manager.

The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, reading blueprints, and welding as needed.

Qualifications

• Must pass pulmonary function test and respirator exam for negative pressure protection.
• Must be clean shaven where respirator seal is required.
• Must be able to communicate in English.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work within a team setting.
• Understand health and safety compliance training in English.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain facility equipment including presses, plating hoists, pumps, conveyors, and compressors.
• Troubleshoot motor control systems including pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Perform welding for repair work as needed.
• Safely operate cranes, hoists, forklifts, and aerial work platforms up to 60 feet.
• Provide own tools for job duties.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace and adhere to safety standards.
• Work in varying temperatures indoors and outdoors, from subzero to 150°F.
