Job summary

Oldcastle Infrastructure in Elgin, IL is seeking a maintenance mechanic to support industrial manufacturing operations. You will ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently by performing preventative maintenance, following diagrams, reading manuals, and troubleshooting malfunctions.

This is a union, non-exempt role. The role requires strong mechanical and electrical skills, with experience in hydraulic systems, blueprints, and basic machine shop work.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical skills; hydraulic systems knowledge.
• Ability to read basic machine blueprints and schematics.
• Forklift training and certification will be provided by the company.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintains safe condition of facility equipment, building, and grounds.
• Constructs fixtures as required.
• Performs preventative maintenance and inspections on equipment as scheduled.
• Repairs facility equipment, fixtures, building, and grounds.
• Removes or installs fixtures and equipment for safe operation.
• Troubleshoots systems to identify failures and suggests solutions.
• Maintains cleanliness and proper use of maintenance tools and fixtures.
• Other duties as assigned.
