Job summary

Thatcher Chemical seeks an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic in California. You will perform complex mechanical maintenance, troubleshoot and repair critical process equipment, and act as a process owner for assigned systems to support safe and efficient plant operations.

Responsibilities include equipment overhauls, preventive maintenance, and collaboration with operations, engineering, and EHS. The role emphasizes mentorship of junior maintenance staff and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of mechanical maintenance experience
• Associate degree plus 6–8+ years of experience
• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and rebuild of pumps, gearboxes, agitators, and compressors.
• Inspect, align, and balance rotating equipment using precision tools.
• Install and maintain mechanical seals, couplings, and bearings.
• Fabricate and install process piping and supports per engineering specs.
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs for assigned systems.
• Review equipment history and provide reliability improvement recommendations.
• Support maintenance shutdowns, turnarounds, and capital project activities.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and EHS for safe repairs.
• Train and mentor Maintenance Mechanic 1 employees.
• Ensure maintenance documentation is accurate and complete.
