Thatcher Chemical is hiring an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to perform complex mechanical maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair critical process equipment across our facilities. The role emphasizes safe, efficient plant operations and ownership of assigned systems.

Requirements include a high school diploma (or equivalent) with substantial experience, or an associate degree with related maintenance background. Strong teamwork and documentation discipline are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 8–10+ years experience, or an associate degree with 6–8+ years.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and advanced troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency with alignment tools, torque wrenches, vibration analyzers.
• Knowledge of pumps, valves, piping, gearboxes, and process systems.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and specs.
• Knowledge of lubrication, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and rebuild of pumps, gearboxes, agitators, and compressors.
• Inspect, align, and balance rotating equipment using precision tools.
• Install and maintain mechanical seals, couplings, and bearings.
• Fabricate and install process piping and supports per engineering specifications.
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs for assigned systems.
• Review equipment history and provide reliability improvement recommendations.
• Support maintenance shutdowns, turnarounds, and capital project activities.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and EHS to ensure safe, compliant repairs.
• Train and mentor Maintenance Mechanic 1 employees.
• Ensure all maintenance documentation is accurate and complete.
