Job summary

International Paper in Tampa is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform electrical, mechanical and hydraulic maintenance and repairs in an industrial setting. The role requires 2 years of related experience and a commitment to safety, with overtime and weekend shifts possible.

You will troubleshoot, plan projects with supervision, help train staff, order parts, and contribute to preventive maintenance programs while upholding quality standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• 2 years of mechanical experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Experience in electrical circuit troubleshooting, PLCs, electronics, arc flash, plumbing, steam/boiler, pneumatics, welding.
• Mechanical Journeyman or Technical/Vocation Certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance in electrical, mechanical and hydraulic breakdowns with minimal supervision.
• Plan and obtain cost estimates and execute projects under guidance of the supervisor.
• Troubleshoot and perform mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Provide training in areas of expertise or knowledge.
• Respond to work orders submitted by employees.
• Assist supervisor in ordering parts.
• Assist supervisor in developing and implementing a preventative maintenance program.
• Perform special assignments such as new equipment installations and preventive maintenance duties.
• Support installation of new equipment and facilities improvements.
• Work safely by observing rules and procedures and identify unsafe conditions.
