Job summary

International Paper Company in Petersburg, VA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, safety mindset, and ability to work across multiple shifts, including overtime as needed.

Applicants should have a high school diploma and at least two years of mechanical/electrical troubleshooting experience in manufacturing; corrugated industry

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus two years in mechanical/electrical troubleshooting in manufacturing.
• Experience in corrugated manufacturing is a plus.
• Willingness to cross-train in other technical areas and work all shifts.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and practices.
• Perform preventive maintenance: lubricating, measuring wear/positions, repositioning components, observing operations, vibrations, and noise.
• Perform emergency/breakdown maintenance as needed to support plant operations.
• Accurately use measurement and test equipment.
• Repair and install electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam systems and related components.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and complete paperwork.
• Troubleshoot and solve problems.
• Possess teamwork and problem-solving skills; cross-train in other areas.
• Work with computer maintenance systems, stores, and work orders.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
