Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the Industrial Gas Turbine group in Hampton, VA. The role involves installing, maintaining and repairing industrial equipment and facilities.

Training is on first shift, with hours to be determined after training; starting pay is $34.64 per hour plus a $1.00 per hour shift premium when on off shifts. Responsibilities include reading work instructions, data recording, testing equipment, repairing and assembling components, and handling

Qualifications

Resume and two professional references required.
High school diploma or GED minimum.
At least 3 years of industrial maintenance experience and/or training.
Availability for all shifts, overtime and weekends may be required.
US work authorization; visa sponsorship is not available.
Export-controlled data access may be required.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, structures and piping per specifications.
Read work instructions and record data manually or digitally.
Test and repair equipment; diagnose issues with supervision.
Dismantle machines and install new or repaired parts as directed.
Maintain pipe systems, hydraulics and pneumatics; fix gauges and valves.
Operate cutting torches or welding equipment.
Fabricate and repair benches, counters and wooden structures.
Rig equipment for installation or removal; use hand tools as required.
Read basic blueprints; operate industrial forklift; work at heights up to 50 feet.
