Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Hampton, VA is hiring DS Casting Techs to operate casting furnaces within the Industrial Gas Turbine group.

You will schedule work, monitor melting processes, and ensure proper alloy and temperatures while following standard processes and safety guidelines. The role requires a high school diploma, 2+ years of manufacturing experience, and flexibility for all shifts, overtime, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Requires resume and two professional references for review.
• Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years of manufacturing experience; new grads with recommendations ok.
• Problem solving and mechanical aptitude required.
• Willingness to work all shifts, including weekends and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain casting furnaces according to procedures.
• Coordinate job numbers with correct alloy, weight and temperature.
• Ensure charges are identified and matched to the correct numbers.
• Transport ingots using a hoist to load into the chamber box/charge box.
• Handle molds from pre-heat furnace to casting furnace.
• Monitor gauges to ensure correct settings, pour speed and crucible size.
