Job summary

ROCKWOOL is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic for our Byhalia, MS location. The role supports 7:00 AM–7:00 PM on a 2-2-3 rotation and involves maintaining and repairing stationary machinery with a focus on reliability and safety.

You will work alongside the Maintenance Electrician, performing welding, mechanical, and electrical tasks to keep production running. A high school diploma and 3+ years of maintenance experience are required, plus strong English communication and

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years Industrial Maintenance experience.
• Must have MIG welding skills.
• Computer literate.
• Have a good command of the English language.
• Good people and communication skills.
• Good troubleshooting skills.
• Work closely with the Maintenance Electrician (and contractors as needed).
• Drive, commitment, positive attitude, and high energy, be a self-starter.
• Must be able to communicate well with all departments.

Responsibilities

• Millwrights and industrial mechanics install, maintain, troubleshoot, overhaul and repair stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
• Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and equipment (pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces, generators) per layout plans using hand and power tools.
• Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery during installation, setup, and repair.
• Inspect and examine machinery to detect irregularities and malfunctions.
• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Adjust machinery and replace defective parts.
• Operate machine tools to fabricate parts required during overhaul or maintenance.
