Job summary

Plastipak Packaging, Inc. in Woodbridge Township, NJ is seeking a Utility Mechanic to keep our facility running safely and efficiently. You will maintain boiler, chiller, air compression (up to 600psi), and HVAC systems while troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.

The role requires a High School Diploma/GED and 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience. Excellent problem-solving skills and PLC familiarity are a must.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience maintaining industrial facility and production systems.
• Strong working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems up to 600psi.
• Strong working knowledge of electrical systems up to 480v.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and interpret technical documentation.
• Solid understanding of plumbing, airflow systems, and PLCs.

Responsibilities

• Execute, monitor, and continuously improve preventative maintenance plans for critical building and production systems.
• Ensure continuous operation of utility infrastructure including boilers, chillers, air compression systems up to 600psi, and HVAC.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical malfunctions on production and facility equipment.
• Rebuild and fabricate spare parts to minimize downtime.
• Interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to support troubleshooting and maintenance procedures.
• Maintain strict compliance with all safety protocols, quality standards, and operational best practices.
