UPS Supply Chain Solutions, Inc. in Stratford, CT seeks a Maintenance Mechanic or Industrial Electrician to maintain and repair the package sorting system, conveyors, and related equipment.

The role requires diagnosing issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring safe, reliable operation of plant machinery. The position is full-time and permanent with a likely 3rd shift, located at 1010 Honeyspot Road in Stratford.

Qualifications

• Must be able to demonstrate mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with common shop tools and equipment.
• Experience or knowledge of conveyor belt maintenance is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and/or replacing mechanical components such as motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and transfer plates.
• Troubleshooting, adjusting and replacing AC and DC electrical equipment including batteries, control stations, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, timers and PLCs.
• Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and/or replacing pneumatic equipment (flow splitters, diverters, air compressors, lubricators, hoses, coils).
• Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and/or replacing hydraulic equipment (hoses, fittings, cylinders, pumps).
• Welding equipment such as handrails, conveyor supports, package handling equipment, carts, and grating.
• Performing preventive maintenance inspections of plant equipment (conveyors, bulk carts, power industrial equipment).

Job Description:

Maintenance Mechanic or Industrial Electrician position supports the package sorting system, including belt conveyors. In our industry this position is also known as Plant Mechanic or Industrial Mechanic. This position is responsible for a broad range of maintenance activities that are performed to keep UPS package handling facilities operating efficiently and effectively. The work can be fast-paced and requires routine interaction with other operations employees.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:

• Successful completion of required testing


• Excellent interpersonal skills


• Ability to demonstrate mechanical aptitude with strong problem-solving skills


• Proficient in the safe use of common shop tools and equipment


• Experience in performing maintenance on conveyor belts is an asset


• Knowledge of electrical and building schematics is an asset

Pay Range:

For this union-represented posting, wage rates and ranges and benefit offerings are governed by applicable collective bargaining agreement provisions. The starting pay rate for this position starts at $35.59/hr. The company offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements.
