Job summary

Techo-Bloc Inc. is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to repair and maintain heavy industrial equipment, diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues, and execute preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.

You’ll work with motors, gear boxes, conveyors, lift systems, and hydraulic/pneumatic components, with stick welding and precision alignment as core duties. The role is based in Douglassville, PA, serving Reading area communities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Heavy Industrial Maintenance.
• Technical degrees/certificates in welding, electro-mechanical, electric or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain heavy industrial equipment, diagnosing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
• Lead troubleshooting and repairs of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Perform stick welding and fabrication on heavy equipment.
• Troubleshoot, repair and align conveyor systems and related components.
• Enter daily tasks, parts used and time into work order system.
• Diagnose and replace faulty electrical components (relays, switches, motors, etc.).
• Refer to schematics and manuals to complete work accurately.

Job Description

• Pay: $33–$42/hr base pay+ year-end bonus
• $2/hrshift differentialfor hours worked5pm-5am
• $85K–$107K average annual income based on experience

Position:

Techo-Bloc is on the hunt for their nextIndustrial Maintenance Mechanic. Our technicians are highly proficient in maintaining and troubleshooting our production equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

You’ll be hands‑on repairing and maintaining heavy industrial equipment, including:

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace mechanical components such as motors, gear boxes, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and augers.
• Leads troubleshooting and repairs of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including pressure issues, large cylinders, sensors, proportional valves, solenoids & pumps
• Stick welding in various positions, locations throughout the factory utilizing various types of joints
• Leads emergency breakdowns to minimize unscheduled downtime of production equipment.
• Splice, track, tension, align and replace components on conveyor systems
• Replacing wear parts by disassembling, cleaning, inspecting, and refurbishing or replacing components. i.e.- gearboxes, hydraulic cylinders, bearing, etc.
• Aligns machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, laser alignment tools and various other tools.
• Repair, install and dismantle heavy industrial production equipment according to plans which involves working at heights, climbing ladders and using mobile equipment (cranes, forklift, scissor lift, etc.).
• Enter daily tasks, parts used and time into work order system
• Diagnose and replace faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, load cells, switches, contactors, motors, etc.
• Reference technical documentation, electrical schematics, equipment manuals and service instructions to complete work accurately

Qualifications

• 3 + years’ experience working in Heavy Industrial Maintenance. Technical degrees/certificates in welding, electro-mechanical, electric or related field preferred
• Previous experience usingbearing heaters, interference fits, and/or removing gear boxes or seized bearings/shafts
• Advanced stick welding and fabrication skills repairing heavy industrial equipment
• Basic understanding of motor controls, PLCs (programmable logic controllers), and VFDs (variable frequency drives) is preferred
• Basic industrial electrical experience
• Experienced with rigging, hoisting, and equipment installation
• Experienced with precision alignment and fine adjustments
• Proficiency in precision measuring utilizing high-accuracy tools like micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, etc. to verify tight tolerances in manufacturing
• Proficient withuse of power tools and fabrication equipment. i.e. grinders, drills, welding, saws, press, bearing heaters, torch, etc.
• Experienced working with CMMS and MS Office Suite
