Compensation

The base hourly rate for this position is $36.08.

Johns Manville is hiring Industrial Maintenance Mechanics at our Penbryn, NJ plant. We seek dependable, responsible, and quality-minded individuals with a history of safe work in manufacturing.

This role involves effective problem solving and troubleshooting to repair and maintain electrical, mechanical, and facility-related functions, equipment, systems, buildings, and structures, supporting plant efficiency. Reports to the Maintenance Supervisor, under supervision of the Plant Engineer.

Work schedule follows the DuPont Schedule: 12-hour shifts over a 28-day cycle, including night shifts, days off, and extended periods off.

What You Bring To The Team

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 5 years verified experience as an industrial maintenance mechanic
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, instructions, manuals, drawings
• Proficiency in writing routine reports and using Microsoft Office
• Experience with machine safety, lockout/tagout procedures
• Lift truck operation skills and ability to obtain licensing

Your Day To Day

• Participate actively in safety practices and maintain safe work habits
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspect, lubricate, repair machinery
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement corrective actions
• Collaborate with coworkers and supervisors
• Read blueprints, make measurements, and complete clerical records in SAP
• Maintain tools and work area, operate mobile equipment if needed
• Assist during emergencies and cleanouts to restore operations quickly
• Wear PPE and follow safety protocols
• Maintain physical fitness to handle job demands

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Requires standing, walking, occasional sitting, handling objects, reaching, and communication. Must lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds with assistance. Work environment involves exposure to noise, vibration, fumes, chemicals, and varying temperatures. PPE is mandatory.
