Position Summary: Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repairs of machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe systems; and performs emergency response tasks as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

EHS

  • Responsible to support safety efforts in his/her department, participates in programs and systems to promote a safety culture at the site.
  • Promptly and timely complies with site’s quality system databases (CPAR, Customer Complaints, QSA, etc.).
  • Performs safety behavior observations
  • Intervenes when unsafe acts or conditions are encountered.
  • Understands, supports, and strictly adheres to site standards, policies, and procedures relevant to safety, industrial hygiene, security/CTPAT requirements, and environmental.
  • Audits conformance to safety standards.
  • Participates in incident investigations identifying root causes and appropriate corrective action to improve safety and environmental performance in the area.

Business Support

  • Responsible for executing mechanical work orders as scheduled and planned
  • Responsible for visually inspecting and tests machinery and equipment.
  • Responsible for dismantling defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts
  • Sets up and operates machine tools such as grinder, drill, and saws to repair or fabricate machine parts, fixtures, and tools.
  • Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment
  • Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Responsible for keeping accurate records of work performed, time spent on jobs, and materials used.
  • Responsible for recommending and implementing improvement ideas/methods for maintenance to lower costs and to improve equipment performance and reliability, and personnel safety.
  • Responsible to enter production data into VDBs, log/batch sheets, databases and systems (SAP).

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED required - associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and one-year related experience; or 3 or more years of Mechanical manufacturing experience with trade school diploma/certification desired

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must have basic working knowledge of the Materials Management and Production Planning modules in SAP as well as Excel and Word Processing software (Microsoft Office, including Access).
  • May be required to work 2nd, 3rd, and or 12-hour shifts (7pm-7am)

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
