Job summary

Tyson Foods in Sedalia, MO is hiring maintenance trainees to join a fast-paced facility. You will be trained to perform preventative maintenance, rebuild equipment, and perform repairs while learning to operate the computerized maintenance management system.

The program emphasizes safety and hands-on skill development. Internal candidates are welcome first; external applicants with automotive or mechanical training are preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to learn troubleshooting skills and use the computerized maintenance program.
• Pass all levels in Maintenance Skills Training Program.
• Failure to pass will result in change of pay and position or possible termination.
• 3 months mechanical experience or related automotive/mechanical degree or training.
• Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Complete final task separate from the application.

Responsibilities

• Training to perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Rebuilding equipment as determined necessary by supervisor.
• Perform facility repairs within area.
• Machine adjustments during production periods.
• Repair equipment as necessary in the event of mechanical failure.
• Learn to use the computerized maintenance management system.
• Work in a fast-paced environment.
• Communicate with proper personnel.
