Job summary

Tyson Foods in St. Joseph, MO is seeking a Maintenance Generalist for all shifts at the St. Joseph Plant.

This full-time role focuses on keeping equipment running through preventative maintenance, repairs, and proper record-keeping. You’ll work across all shifts with safety and GMP adherence as core priorities, and a retention bonus program is available. The position requires 6 months of maintenance experience or 3 months with a maintenance education, ability to lift up to 70 pounds, and

Qualifications

• 6 months of maintenance experience in any maintenance field.
• Or 3 months maintenance experience in any field with a maintenance education (e.g., technical diploma or currently enrolled in a program).
• Able to lift 20–70 pounds and perform duties in varying temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Care for machinery and equipment by completing preventative maintenance, including lubricating moving components, adjusting parts, rebuilding, completing scheduled service and assisting operators on change over.
• Ensure work area and equipment are kept clean and orderly at all times.
• Daily examination of equipment for assigned area to identify signs of wear, defects, and damage.
• Repair industrial equipment and machinery to ensure they’re always in proper working order.
• Record all maintenance and repair services performed, and keep track of all materials and parts used during the repair process.
• Observe and promote all plant safety and GMP specifications.
• Study manuals/blueprints and follow directions when operating or setting up newly acquired machinery or making repairs.
• Attend training both off site and on site as needed.
• Notify leadership when inventory is low and needs replenishment.
