Job summary

Aerotek in Long Beach, CA is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Electrician for a contract-to-hire role. The position focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in an industrial setting.

You will diagnose PLC-controlled systems, read schematics, and perform preventive maintenance across stamping and welding operations, with a strong emphasis on safety and continuous improvement. Onsite shifts apply.

Qualifications

56 years of experience in industrial maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
Strong electrical troubleshooting skills on industrial equipment and systems.
Hands-on mechanical troubleshooting and repair in a production setting.
Basic to intermediate PLC troubleshooting.
Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and blueprints.
Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems troubleshooting and repair.
Proficient in repairing components such as cylinders, pumps, motors, and bearings.
Ability to interpret start/stop switch diagrams for wiring.
Experience in stamping and welding environments is preferred.
Commitment to safety and adherence to procedures.

Responsibilities

Perform advanced electrical and mechanical troubleshooting on industrial equipment to minimize downtime.
Diagnose and resolve PLC-controlled system issues.
Read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and blueprints to plan repairs.
Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment in stamping and welding operations.
Inspect and repair cylinders, pumps, motors, spindles, valves, gears, switches, and bearings.
Draw and interpret start/stop switch diagrams for wiring support.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to improve reliability.
Collaborate with production and engineering to identify root causes and solutions.
Follow safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
Document maintenance activities and parts usage for traceability and improvement.
Contribute to Kaizen efforts for equipment performance and safety.
