Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands in Houston is seeking a manufacturing associate to set up and operate heavy machinery for cutting, punching, forming, and processing parts. You will read blueprints, select materials, and ensure quality while following safety rules.

The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work 8–12 hour shifts with overtime based on demand. The position emphasizes continuous improvement, effective communication, and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of related work experience in manufacturing or comparable environment.
• Good communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Experience with hand tools, wrenches, banding equipment and nail guns.
• Able to read a tape measure.
• Forklift experience a plus / trainable on forklift.
• Crane experience a plus / trainable on crane.
• Flexible with overtime and weekends when needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate heavy machinery and related gauges to perform cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing operations.
• Produce quality-building parts with knowledge of production techniques.
• Follow safety rules and precautions in a manufacturing environment.
• Operate computerized equipment and material handling equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment and tools.
• Mark part numbers and tags to help locate parts for customers.
• Interpret blueprints and select correct materials.
• Support continuous improvement in the work area.
• Stand/walk 8–12 hours daily.
• Handle materials repetitively and in awkward positions.
• Climb on/off equipment and ladders.
• Work in varying and extreme conditions (hot, cold, rain, sun).
