Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a manufacturing associate in the Houston area to set up and operate heavy machinery, read blueprints, and handle parts with accuracy. The role requires standing 8–12 hours and performing maintenance and safety checks in varying weather conditions.

Applicants should have at least one year in manufacturing, strong communication, basic computer skills, and experience with hand tools. Overtime and weekend work may be required; night shifts start at 6:00 pm.

Qualifications

• A minimum of one year of related work experience in manufacturing or comparable work environment.
• Good Communication Skills
• Basic Computer Skills
• Experience with hand tools, wrenches, banding equipment and nail guns.
• Able to use of measuring gauges
• Able to read a tape measure
• Forklift experience a plus / Must be trainable on forklift
• Crane experience a plus / Must be trainable on crane
• Flexible with working overtime and weekends when needed
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate heavy machinery and related gauges to perform various cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing operations
• Knowledge of production techniques and have the ability to produce quality-building parts
• Operate safety rules and precautions in a manufacturing environment
• Operate computerized equipment and material handling equipment
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment and production tools
• Mark part numbers, order numbers, and pieces; attach identification tags
• Interpret blueprints and technical data to select correct raw materials
• Maintain continuous improvement practices in the work area
• Stand or walk 8–12 hours daily
• Handle materials repetitively and work in sometimes awkward positions
• Climb on/off equipment and ladders as needed
• Work in varying indoor/outdoor conditions (hot, cold, rain, sun)
