Job summary

Thorpe Plant Services, Inc. is seeking a Laborer to support skilled craftsmen on construction job sites in Kentucky. You will perform varied labor tasks, operate basic tools, and help ensure safety and quality on every task.

This role requires 2+ years in industrial or construction work, ability to read simple blueprints, and good physical stamina. You must stay compliant with PPE and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in an industrial or construction environment.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools and other industrial equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints or project plans.
• Knowledge of basic industrial safety practices and ability to follow safety guidelines.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a team.
• Good physical endurance and ability to perform manual labor.
• Must lift heavy materials and work in confined spaces when required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with specialized craft activities under the guidance of skilled craftsmen.
• Transport and handle materials, tools, and equipment for the team.
• Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, or shaping components.
• Assist with installation and assembly of industrial systems or machinery.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and industrial machinery under supervision.
• Mix and apply materials like concrete, mortar, or epoxy coatings.
• Assist in assembling/disassembling scaffolding and temporary structures.
• Follow PPE and safety protocols and report hazards to supervisors.
• Perform quality checks to ensure compliance with specs and standards.
• Clean and maintain tools, machinery, and work areas.
• Support troubleshooting of basic issues with materials, tools, or equipment.
• Assist in training or mentoring less experienced Laborer I team members.
• Help maintain project timelines and complete tasks efficiently.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by project supervisors.
