Job summary

Wieland North America, Inc. seeks an Industrial Lab Technician - Press Room in Buffalo, NY. The role focuses on testing in-process and finished materials to ensure customer specifications are met and advising production on adjustments.

You will coordinate with Bliss Press Operators and other technical staff, interpret results, and support corrective actions. The position is fully onsite with a split shift and potential bonus based on company performance.

Qualifications

• AAS in a Technical Discipline.
• 3–5 years full-time professional work experience.
• Participation in ISO programs and continuous improvement activities.
• Handling universal wastes and proper labeling.

Responsibilities

• Calibrates dial indicator gauges and performs in-process examination to ensure customer specifications are met.
• Performs in-process dimensional checks before running material and records data electronically.
• Cuts cups with a wheel and highlights grain structure for microscope measurement.
• Uses a CMM machine to measure cup dimensions per customer lot numbers.
• Releases verified material for shipment and relabels packages when needed.
• Gathers chemical analysis data from cast shop via EMS and forwards samples to Spectro lab for testing.
• Notifies Quality Engineer of non-conforming samples and investigates root causes.
• Occasionally amends the Furnace schedule when inaccuracies are present.
