Job summary

Watco Transloading in Houston, TX is hiring an Electrician to install, maintain, test, and repair electrical systems and equipment. You will ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and in compliance with applicable codes, with strong troubleshooting and hands-on electrical experience in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires reading blueprints, wiring installations, and diagnosing PLC faults using diagnostic software, while following strict safety procedures and mentoring apprentices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4–5 years of progressive electrical experience in commercial, industrial, or residential settings.
• Must hold and maintain a current Journeyman Electrician license issued by the applicable state or local licensing authority
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid TWIC card
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical work in accordance with NEC, OSHA, NFPA 70E, and local codes.
• Identify and diagnose electrical problems using test equipment and complete repairs.
• Lay out, install, and test wiring, conduit, fixtures, and distribution equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics for installations.
• Measure and install conduit and terminate feeder cables and low‑voltage wiring.
• Diagnose PLC hardware faults and ladder logic with diagnostic software.
• Follow safety procedures including LOTO and JHAs and PPE use.
• Handle materials up to 80 lbs and work with ladders/scaffolding.
• Assist training of electrical apprentices and supervise on-site tasks.
