Job summary

STA Coated Technologies in Rogersville, TN, seeks an Electrical/Instrumentation Technician A to monitor and troubleshoot control systems, program PLCs, and maintain instrumentation in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

The role requires interpreting mechanical, electrical and chemical system drawings, performing calibration, and providing 24/7 support for operations. Strong English, safety awareness, and ability to work non-standard hours are essential.

Qualifications

• Oral and written English language literate.
• Proficiency in PLC and HMI programming (Siemens, Rockwell etc.).
• 3-5 years’ experience in an industrial setting.
• Understanding of instrumentation, control systems, PLCs, and low voltage electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Programmable logic controller and/or Distributed control system (PLC/DCS) troubleshooting and programming.
• Install instrumentation including mounting hardware and sensing lines, pulling and termination of I/O cables, configuration, calibration, and basic PLC programming.
• Read and understand mechanical, electrical, chemical, and controls system drawings.
• Respond quickly to potentially critical situations, perform rapid assessments, troubleshoot system components and implement corrections.
• Review maintenance procedures to ensure best practices are in place and documented.
