Job summary

Nathan Trotter & Co. is launching a new Martinsville manufacturing operation and seeks an Instrument Technician II (Electrical) to join the Maintenance team.

You will maintain electrical, instrumentation, and automated control systems to keep production safe, efficient, and reliable. Ideal candidates have a 4+ year track record in industrial electrical/automation environments, strong PLC and instrumentation skills, and familiarity with 480V power distribution.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Instrumentation, Industrial Electronics, Electrical Technology, or related field preferred; combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial electrical, instrumentation, or automated control systems.
• Experience with 480-volt industrial electrical systems and associated power distribution equipment.
• Proficiency reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
• Experience troubleshooting PLCs and automation equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and optimize industrial electrical, instrumentation, and automated control systems.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment reliability.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, PLC, instrumentation, and control system issues.
• Install, calibrate, maintain, and test process instrumentation (pressure, flow, level, temperature, analytical devices).
• Maintain and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, MCCs, sensors, transmitters, valves, and related equipment.
• Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot 480-volt electrical systems and power distribution equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and technical documentation.
• Support equipment installations, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow safety, environmental, and LOTO procedures.
