Job summary

Reworld Waste is seeking an Instrument & Controls Technician to manage electrical and control equipment across the plant. You will calibrate instrumentation, troubleshoot DCS/PLC/VFD systems, and update preventive maintenance work orders while supporting safety standards.

The role requires strong diagnostic skills, experience with OMRON Allen Bradley PLCs, Citect, and the ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, in Huntsville, AL.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience with electronic/electrical and pneumatic systems in an industrial environment.
• High School Diploma or equivalent and/or formal technical training.
• Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers and Distributive Control Systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot instrumentation and controls and understand process interactions.
• Calibrations to pressure, flow, temperature and sensing instrumentation (Rosemount).
• Proficient with multimeters and smart calibrators.
• Ability to read electrical prints and P&IDs.
• Experience with OMRON and Allen Bradley PLC hardware/logic.
• Learn and use Citect HMI and troubleshoot Ethernet communications.
• Willing to rotate shifts including nights, weekends, holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain instrument and control test, calibration and repair areas and equipment.
• Assist in redesigning instrumentation, controls and electrical systems as required.
• Monitor burner operation and ensure safe facility operation.
• Perform general duties to ensure safe, clean, efficient plant operation.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.
