Job summary

Thorp Controls is seeking an Inside Sales Representative for an on-site role in the Omaha, Nebraska metropolitan area. You will support the sales organization by managing customer relationships, processing quotes and orders, and collaborating with Outside Sales, Vendors, and Operations to ensure a seamless customer experience.

You will analyze customer requirements, communicate order status, and use CRM/ERP systems to document activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree, trade school, or technical education preferred.
• 2+ years of Inside Sales, customer service, or industrial distribution experience preferred.
• Experience in automation, electrical, or industrial supply industry is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Results-driven with a customer-first mindset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM/ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary point of contact for customers via phone, email, and internal systems.
• Analyze customer requirements and recommend appropriate products or solutions.
• Create, process, and follow up on customer quotations in coordination with Outside Sales and Vendors.
• Enter and manage sales orders accurately and efficiently.
• Track and communicate order status, lead times, and delivery updates to customers.
• Utilize Thorp CRM and ERP systems to document customer interactions, opportunities, and activities.
• Support Outside Sales by prospecting for new clients, preparing quotes, coordinating pricing, and assisting with account management.
• Develop strong working relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
• Maintain product and vendor knowledge to effectively support customer needs.
• Strive to exceed customer expectations through responsiveness, accuracy, and professionalism.
