Job summary

brownandrootexternal is seeking an Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and instrumentation systems in our industrial operations. The role ensures equipment reliability and safe operation per OSHA standards.

Responsibilities include reading P&IDs, calibrating instruments, and performing preventative/corrective maintenance on motors, transmitters, valves, PLCs, and related equipment, while maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical credentials preferred.
• Experience with PLCs, DCS, and instrumentation calibration is a plus.
• Ability to read P&IDs, schematics, and loop drawings; OSHA safety standards knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, test, and maintain instrumentation and electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, loop drawings, and manuals.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on motors, transmitters, valves, PLCs.
• Diagnose and repair instrumentation/electrical issues to minimize downtime.
• Record maintaining and documentation; ensure safety and compliance with policies.
