Job summary

Calumet is seeking an I&E Planner to screen work orders, define scope, and plan execution for heavy industrial settings. You will work with maintenance personnel and report to the Maintenance Manager, contributing to safe, efficient project execution.

The role requires a strong background in instrumentation, electrical systems, PLCs, and field planning, with a track record of organizing tasks and managing backlogs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of experience as a Journeyman I&E Technician OR a Maintenance Planner in a heavy industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of industrial instrumentation, electrical systems (low/medium voltage), motor controls, PLCs, and P&IDs.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and plan tasks.
• Computer skills: JDE/SAP/Maximo experience; Spreadsheet and Microsoft Office; Project Management (MS Project)

Responsibilities

• Screen incoming work orders, identify scope and plan level.
• Conduct field walk downs to document job requirements.
• Identify safety hazards and incorporate safety procedures into the plan.
• Estimate hours for tasks and overall work order duration.
• Plan jobs with appropriate detail for skilled trades.
• Include QA/QC requirements and procure necessary tools.
• Gather technical documents and drawings for planning.
• Provide budgetary estimates within 10-15% of package value.
• Communicate clearly with trades about critical steps.
• Coordinate with management to set priorities and backlog targets.
• Ensure purchase orders and delivery dates are tracked.
