Job summary

TMS International is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair cranes, forklifts, conveyors, loaders, and other critical mill machinery in our on-site facilities.

Candidates should have proven heavy equipment experience, strong mechanical/electrical knowledge, and the ability to read schematics. A valid driver's license and the willingness to work in a dynamic steel mill environment are required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic in an industrial setting.
• Ability to read manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Welding, fabrication, and machining experience is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Physically capable in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy equipment and machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and implement corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
• Collaborate with maintenance team members to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Adhere to safety regulations and company policies at all times.
