Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is hiring an Industrial Generator Field Service Technician 2 to maintain, diagnose, repair, and optimize gas and diesel engines at customer sites. The role involves on-site service, diagnostic work, and coordination of service orders with customers and internal teams.

• Typically 2–4 years of related experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Travel 70–90% locally and 20–30% outside local area.
• Background check and drug screening may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support service coordination for customer calls and requests; prepare service orders and warranty/goodwill claims.
• Manage genuine parts and tools orders after handover from Sales to service coordination.
• Prepare service orders for invoicing; collect data, invoices, and labor sheets; manage parts returns.
• Maintain service shop documentation and share new technical information.
• Assist with invoicing, pricing, and customer conditions; support warehouse activities.
• Perform standard preventative maintenance and on-site service on Olympian products.
