Job summary

Atlanta Gear Works in Dawsonville, GA is seeking an experienced Industrial Gearbox Mechanic to join our skilled team. Ideal candidate must have at least 3 years of prior industrial gearbox assembly experience and the ability to travel occasionally. Schedule is 1st shift, M-F 7am-3:45pm with overtime opportunities.

You will assemble gearboxes, mount bearings and gears, read drawings, and verify part accuracy. Travel to customer sites for inspections, repairs and installs may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience in industrial gearbox assembly or related role.
• Must be able to travel occasionally.
• High school diploma or GED required; technical training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assemble gearboxes of various sizes and weights.
• Mount bearings and gears on shafts.
• Read and interpret assembly drawings.
• Calculate bearing and gear contact patterns to ensure fit.
• Test parts for accuracy and quality.
• Travel to customer sites for inspections, repairs and installs.
