Job summary

Atlanta Gear Works, a precision gear jobshop in Dawsonville, GA, is seeking a CNC Machinist with experience in gear grinding or hobbing to join our skilled team on the 1st shift. Must have at least 3 years in gearing, be able to program and operate manual and CNC lathes and mills, read drawings, and perform precision measurements.

Overtime opportunities available. We are a contract precision maintenance jobshop serving a variety of industries with focus on quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years experience in gearing/hobbing.
• Must have experience using high precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and verniers.
• Must be able to read mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Machine parts from mechanical drawings.
• CNC work must include setup, programming (on Machine and in CAM), tool setup and operations.
• Operate Manual and CNC Lathes and Mills.
• Read micrometers and other measuring instruments and record readings.
• Read mechanical drawings.
• Perform simple math calculations.
