Job summary

Airgas in Durham, NC is hiring a Plant Operator for the 1st shift (6am–2:30pm) to ensure a steady supply of industrial gases. You will operate and care for compressors, pumps, filling stations, and forklifts, while keeping safety at the core and recording production activities.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior plant operations or industrial maintenance experience preferred.
• Industrial gas experience a plus.
• Ability to operate forklift safely.

Responsibilities

• Care for and operate equipment in the production facility to support gas supply.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance to keep equipment in good condition.
• Safely move cylinders and materials, including forklift operations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, cylinder tracking, and production activities.
• Follow all safety protocols and participate in team safety initiatives.
