Job summary

Airgas, Inc. in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Plant Operator to fill high-pressure cylinders (Industrial, Medical, and Mix) using compression temperature/pressure methods.

You will operate and maintain gas-pumping equipment and perform pre-fill and post-fill inspections in accordance with safety standards. The role supports cylinder records, loading/unloading, and inventory management, with a Monday–Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm schedule and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to lift 25–75 lbs routinely and up to 100 lbs with assistance.
• Ability to read and understand written and computer-generated documentation.
• Must be able to operate forklift and obtain forklift certification.

Responsibilities

• Fill high-pressure cylinders (Industrial, Medical, and Mix) using the compression temperature/pressure method.
• Operate and safely maintain equipment for pumping or repackaging gases into cylinders.
• Perform pre-fill and post-fill inspections and verify safety before release of cylinders.
• Attend to cylinder condition and set aside for maintenance or repair as needed.
• Inspect and maintain pumping apparatus and gauges for reliable operation.
• Fill cylinders to target pressure or weight and document records.
• Assist with loading/unloading trucks and support inventory and housekeeping.
