Job summary

Vinmar International is seeking an experienced Industrial Forklift Mechanic to join our maintenance team. You will inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain forklifts and related equipment to ensure safe operation across our facility.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of hands-on forklift repair experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to read manuals and schematics. Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems is required, with valid driver's license and safety-conscious

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience repairing forklifts, heavy equipment, or similar machinery.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read service manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Ability to use hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop equipment safely.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Forklift mechanic certification or formal technical training is a plus.
• Welding experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing on forklifts and material-handling equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and fuel-system problems.
• Repair and replace engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, hydraulics, batteries, tires, and other components.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems, including wiring, starters, alternators, and controls.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure equipment meets company and manufacturer requirements.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime.
• Communicate repair needs and equipment conditions with supervisors and operations personnel.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all OSHA, company, and equipment manufacturer safety procedures.
• Perform other maintenance duties as assigned
