Thompson Pipe Group in Bakewell, TN is seeking an Industrial Fabrication Technician to transform raw steel into precision rings for water and wastewater systems across North America. The role involves operating the overhead crane, setting up ring presses, and performing quality checks to meet engineering tolerances.

Day-to-day duties include welding, cutting, rolling, and finishing components with a focus on safety.

Qualifications

• 2+ years Machine Operator experience.
• 2+ years Manufacturing experience.
• 2+ years Forklift operation experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate as the primary overhead crane operator in the steel liner area.
• Cut/shear, tack weld, roll, and grind steel to blueprint and quality standards.
• Run ring presses to enlarge or shrink rings; complete setups and changeovers.
• Conduct quality checks, adjust equipment, and perform minor repairs.
• Load/unload the line, move materials with a forklift, and complete pre-op inspections.
• Maintain organization and protect products/equipment from damage.
