Job summary

Thompson Pipe Group is a private family business of engineers, contractors, and manufacturers with locations across the U.S. and North America. We are seeking a Welder/Fabricator to repair and fabricate components essential to production processes.

The role involves welding, maintenance, and fabrication tasks, with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency. Applicants should have experience with flux-core welding and related processes; supervision will be provided on a manufacturing site.

Qualifications

• Must pass 3G with the back gouge and back weld with FCAW process.
• Must be able to weld within criteria. ASM section 8 UW-51 (100 RT X-Ray)
• Must be able to maintain a 92% acceptance rate with ASME UW-51 (100% RT X-Ray)
• Able to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and verbal form.
• Must be experienced in flux-core welding, SMAW, SAW a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Inspect spirally welded cylinders and perform repairs per AWWA C200 and specs.
• Use oxyacetylene torch to square cylinder ends and perform repairs.
• Install, maintain, repair, overhaul, test, and adjust mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical equipment.
• Perform plumbing, pipefitting, welding, sheet metal, and structural work.
• Perform shaft and motor/gearbox alignment.
• Perform rigging and crane operations; diagnose faults.
• Perform preventive maintenance and assist in planning work.
• Fabricate parts using shop equipment and design layouts for new equipment.
• Maintain buildings and grounds; ensure safe work areas.
• Perform minor maintenance on welding equipment and tools.
