Job summary

Rapat Corporation is seeking an experienced Industrial Estimator to join our team. You will create detailed bids for prospective conveyor projects, analyze drawings and specifications, and develop labor and material estimates.

You’ll coordinate with engineering, sales, and operations to ensure accurate, competitive proposals. You’ll maintain documentation in our ERP system, review plans for safety policy compliance, and support new product development to keep us competitive in the industry.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in project management, construction management, or drafting & design
• 2+ years of relevant estimating experience
• Strong understanding of mechanical components, structural steel, manufacturing processes, and industrial construction techniques
• Ability to accurately follow schematics, blueprints, and verbal instructions
• Professional communication skills and interpersonal abilities
• Multi-tasking, prioritization, and time management skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), an ERP like Epicor Kinetic, video communication tools like Zoom, design software like CAD, AutoCAD, or SOLIDWORKS, and Overland conveyor software

Responsibilities

• Create detailed bids for prospective projects
• Review technical specifications and drawings
• Prepare material takeoffs, cost estimates, and preliminary layouts
• Develop labor estimates and timelines
• Present proposals to prospects
• Coordinate with internal teams and track bid opportunities in ERP
• Maintain engineering and sales documentation
• Support development of new products or offerings
