Industrial Engineering Technician (Finance)

Job Description:

Industrial Engineer Technician, Columbia SC, Onsite

The Industrial Engineer Technician drives data analysis and communication to the site by utilizing site systems and methodologies. This associate will be the primary owner of site scorecards, data trending, site informational databases, and other related systems and processes. They will support ideation and on-the-floor implementation of efficiency gains and waste reduction projects, as well as support the FI Pillar in problem solving and driving value leadership for the site. The IE Technician reports to the Industrial Engineering Manager.

Mars does not sponsor visas for this role. This position is not eligible for relocation benefits.

What we are looking for?

Education / Training:
  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field required
  • Experience or training in TPM, AM, AWT, 5S, Continuous Improvement, Problem Solving is desired
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to teach others using tools such as one-point lessons and leading by example
  • Proficiency in preparing PowerPoint presentations and comfortable presenting to groups
  • Team player who values others' input
  • Mechanical machinery aptitude is essential
  • Intermediate MS Excel skills, including data interpretation, organization, and analysis
  • Strong organizational skills and self-directed capability
  • Ability to lead a small team towards common solutions
  • Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ownership and maintenance of site data spreadsheets and systems
  • Management of site scorecards, including Weekly Scorecard, Period Scorecard, OPEX Presentation, and TRS Deep Dive
  • Functional expert in problem solving
  • Identify food safety risks and recommend improvements
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to improve equipment efficiency, eliminate waste, and reduce costs
  • Ensure area/equipment performance boards align with FMOS via PowerBI & Weever
  • Track and report site savings and progress toward MCC and Primes savings goals
  • Manage WAGES System, report SIG Metrics, and update Enablon
  • Analyze production data to optimize capacity
  • Support Loss Analysis and other tools for loss identification and tracking
  • Use downtime data to analyze trends and recommend corrective actions
  • Lead Waste initiatives through weekly reports and meetings
  • Manage and lead site Change Management processes
  • Perform other duties as assigned
